 After School Education and Safety (ASES)

ASES will be virtual until further notice due to COVID-19

Welcome to the After School Education and Safety (ASES) Program at Granger Jr High! ASES is aligned with the regular school day and provides a safe environment after school that supports academic and recreation enrichment.

Studies show that participation in ASES increases student achievement in school while providing a safe environment for them.

Granger’s After School ASES program offers:

  • Academic Support (Tutoring, Homework Center before and after school, Grade Checks, etc.)
  • Recreation/Sports/Arts Enrichment

The ASES program is available on a first come first served basis. Priority is given to students who attend five times a week for the full program time (6-8:15am; morning program and 3:15-6:00pm; afternoon program).

Further priority is considered based on frequent attendance.  If there is a wait list, they are added as students who do not meet requirements are dropped.

Registration

Registration starts at the beginning of the school year and is ongoing throughout the year. Enrollment forms are available in the after school program office (room 902).  Parents must complete all sections of the form and sign, including the EARLY RELEASE/LATE ARRIVAL forms as applicable.

Attendance Requirements/Early Release 

The intent of the ASES grant is that students who attend the program should participate the full range of the program.

The minimum attendance requirement  is half program time (AM: 6:45-8:15/PM: 3:15-4:45).

If your child will only be in the program half time they MUST complete an EARLY RELEASE form indicating the time the students will leave the program and the reason.
